What is the "Jane's Hope Collection" about?

In April 2007, The Belles suffered a tragic loss. A mother, grandmother and friend, Jane - aka "Granny Belle" - passed away from a complication resulting from her treatment for breast cancer. She was a strong woman and loved by many. Her biggest passion in life was her hope in Christ and The Belles look forward to the day when they are reunited with Jane in His presence.

We have created a collection titled "Jane's Hope" that we are proud to offer you. We are pleased to announce that we will donate at least 50% of all profit from the sales of each piece in the Jane's Hope Collection to The Rose, a charity based in Houston, TX. The Rose provides breast cancer screenings and treatments to women no matter their economic status or ability to pay.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." ~ Romans 15:13 (NIV)

To view the Jane's Hope collection and see our current donation total, please visit our Jane's Hope page.

What does “gold-filled” mean and how does it compare to karate gold and “gold plated“ metal?

Gold filled (also known as “rolled gold“ or “GF”) metal is made by bonding a sheet or hollow tube of gold, usually 14K, to a core of semi-precious metal through extreme heat and pressure. The outer layer of a gold filled piece is solid karate gold so anything you see or come into contact with is real gold and can be worn by people who can only wear real gold jewelry. Gold filled metal is not to be confused with the inferior and inexpensive “gold plated” metals. Gold filled jewelry contains approximately 100 times the amount and thickness of karate gold that “gold plated” jewelry contains, and is much more costly, durable, and attractive. By law, it must contain at least 1/20 of its weight in karate gold. It is tarnish resistant and looks just like regular 14K gold, and is normally considered to last a lifetime with normal wear and care. There have been GF pieces found that were dated in the early 1900s that are still in excellent condition! Your gold filled pieces are an investment…… treat them well.
